It took a few days, but Chone Figgins is officially a Seattle Mariner — barring a physical, of course:
One of the worst-kept secrets of baseball’s Winter Meetings was finalized Tuesday as the Seattle Mariners announced the signing of free-agent infielder Chone Figgins to a four-year deal.
The contract also carries an option for a potential fifth season in 2014.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the Associated Press has reported the contract at $36 million, with a possible vested option for another $9 million for the fifth season.
Figgins will most likely hit second in the lineup and play third base, although he can play almost any position in the field.

The Right Move?
I still believe what I wrote on my site a few days ago. This is a bad move for the Mariners unless they are going to get a big bat to go with him. If they opted for Figgins instead of a big bat then they will see too many tablesetters without enough pop is not a good thing
