To borrow a phrase from Kenny Smith, All-Star Saturday is almost back before it even starts this year. "I don't think so," Smith said his late naming being a disadvantage. "If you're a really good dunker, you should be able to come up with something on the fly."I think those ideas might be contradictory, but amen to both of them. Dunks should be creative, not homework assignments with audience input. And I want to be surprised by them.
Smith said he already has some ideas, but they're "top secret."

Nothing against J.R. Smith – he’s a great dunker, but why him instead of one of the other guys that were in the fan voting contest? I can’t believe Fernandez is in either, but I guess we’re stuck with him.

That’s a good point. I’m guessing it says something about how they view this year’s field, or the caliber of the fan vote guys. Or maybe J.R. just changed his mind but had been invited all along.

They should replace Rudy with some crazy wannabe from the And One tour who’s willing to jump over a crocodile pit, like Fonzie.
