Clemson Ignores Duke's Cries for Mercy

Two weeks ago, Duke beat Maryland at home by 41 points. After last night, Duke almost knows how the Terps feel. (It would be impossible to ever fully grasp Maryland’s embarrassment on that day.) The Blue Devils lost by 27 at Clemson and only managed 47 total points. It was the first time Clemson’s beaten Duke in their last 23 regular season meetings and Duke’s worst loss since the 1990 NCAA Championship game, when UNLV beat the Devils by 30.

Let’s see, how else can we express the magnitude of Clemson’s domination? Trevor Booker, do you have anything you’d like to add?
"It's going to be tough to top that," Booker said. "We just played great. ... They quit at the end. We just got the job done."
Duke, quitters? Mike Patrick knows that surely you jest. Anyone who has watched one of Duke’s dozen ESPN games knows that Duke NEVER quits.

Anything else that you’d like to add before we wrap this up, Trevor?

Oh, now you’re just being rude, Booker. Dunking over 6’8” Kyle Singler and 7’1” Brian Zoubek? That just seems uncalled for. Speaking of, you might wanna let the students know that storming the court after beating the fourth-ranked team in early February is a no-no.

Ever since the 3 point was installed into the game, Duke has relied on it.. too much.

Both of your comments are good.  I agree with both, and they show real class and kindness though they are brief.  I think Booker said what he said because he knew that is the ultimate insult to the Duke guys.  Duke really does never quit, so saying that was him trying to twist the knife so to speak.  I think they were stunned, but they do not quit.  The fact that he said that shows he knows Duke is often out-talented, but rarely outworked.  So, really it is a compliment.

Do you actually get paid for writing this stuff?
