Portis Lobbies to Bring Boldin to Washington

Creating interesting Pro Bowl coverage isn’t as difficult as it may seem. It involves two steps, actually: 1) Hand Clinton Portis a microphone; 2) Show the world the results. NFL Network understands this, as they proved by letting CP loose in Hawaii over the weekend. (Oh, and Terrell Suggs, too, who used his complete lack of personality to help demonstrate just how awesome Portis is.)

Clinton, being the sly fox that he is, used the opportunity to let Anquan Boldin know that the next time he comes to the Pro Bowl, it’ll be with a Redskins logo on his shoulder, not a Cardinal:

Portis: We’ve got the most unhappy guy in Hawaii. We in beautiful Hawaii and this man is unhappy. He turnin’ down money. He not stayin’ in Arizona. He basically comin’ to the Washington Redskins. Whattup, teammate?

Boldin: Whattup, whattup!

The two then enjoyed a good laugh together, while Redskins fans everywhere cringed. Trading away draft picks for Boldin, who they’d then need to sign to a $40 million-ish contract, is exactly the type of move Washington has become notorious for under Dan Snyder and Vinny Cerrato. You’d think they would’ve learned from the whole Brandon Lloyd debacle. Although Snyder does have the constant urge to prove that anything the Cowboys do, the Redskins can do better. Oh, what’s that Jerry Jones? You’re gonna trade four picks for Roy Williams then sign him to a 5-year, $45 million deal? Well, how’s this taste: We’re gonna give Arizona our first rounders through infinity and hand Anquan a blank check. Game over.

Well let me be clear that drafting draft picks isn’t the brightest idea.

But trading draft picks and giving money to Brandon Lloyd is a downright stupid, IQ-lowring, dumb as a bag of rocks, silly and embarrasing idea.

So trading draft picks for Anquan Boldin is actually a good idea in comparison.

Clinton Portis is also very cool.

Honestly, While the redskins do need draft picks, Vinny Cerato is such a piss poor evaluator of talent, that drafting players is even MORE riskier than making a play at an over priced free agent.

At least we KNOW that Anquan Boldin is good.

Any of these ring a bell?:
Durant Brooks
Malcom Kelly
Fred Davis

These were all Cerato guys, who finally had to stand on his own with out Papa Gibbs to look out for him.
