Isiah Thomas: No, I'll Pay You to Let Me Coach

Isiah Thomas clearly understands his economics. Florida international University, like many schools, is suffering through budget cuts and shortfalls in the recession. They also needed a basketball coach. Here's where Thomas comes in with a Shamwowtastic offer Florida International could not refuse: ↵
↵⇥Here's a sign of how badly Isiah Thomas wanted to return to coaching: He's working for free at Florida International. ↵⇥

↵⇥At his introductory news conference at FIU on Wednesday, Thomas said his salary the first year from the Golden Panthers will be donated back to the school's athletic department. ↵⇥

↵
↵It's at the very least a clear demonstration of Isiah's determination to coach again, no matter what it may take. It is also a clear demonstration of Thomas' understanding of his own value as a coach in this market: zero dollars. ↵

↵(Knicks fans will argue that even at these prices Thomas will be overpaid.) ↵
