Lewand talked about expressing graphically the change the Lions want to make on the field. The fans cheered and again chanted, “Curry! Curry!”Wait, fans aren't distracted from the important matters by shiny new things? What? Someone call the Steinbrenners, cancel that whole stadium thing.

They need new colors.
Powder blue just does not work for a football color, just ask the Houston Oilers.
They should have gone black and gold, with the face of lion chewing up some lower food chain animal- incisors showing and all!!

Hahahaha Thundercats, priceless!
Maybe their new mascot should be Snarf!

It looks kind of similar to the old logo. I am surprised that the team didn’t consider changing the logo altogether to a different lion design. After going 0-16 you would think that the team would change its image by a level greater than this.

Wow that was a waste of time and money.

I believe the phrase is something like "putting lipstick on a pig".

Snarf?? You could at least give them that lady thundercat. She was like the Smurfette of the Thundercat world.

What are those markings above the lion’s shoulder supposed to be, Nike swooshes?

This new logo is slick… very defined.. i want to forget this past season but just cant
Quite frankly i would be responding "Curry OR Smith" just get one of them… keep our qb upright or make sure their qb cant do a thing with sims and curry duo

The first piece in the puzzle is in place. Now all they need is a QB, LBs, DL,OL, and secondary. Poor Matthew Stafford; no Dawg should be subjected to this.
By the way, how do you like my font.

They should have completely changed the logo. Heck, they should have changed the name of the team and started from scratch. A kind of Witness Protection for a football team.

The new logo sucks, just like the team management that approved it. Now if they could just get a team for the "Snazzy" logo.

I dont care if they wore pink and violet uniforms better news would of been they have signed Matthew Stafford to a deal prior to this Saturday

Bubbles with teeth! Sweeeeet! All we need now is an offense, a defense, a new owner, and a new front office! We’re almost there!

I believe it’s Honolulu blue, not powder blue(see old Chargers uni’s). Anyway, I don’t think it looks too bad and after 0-16, any change has gotta be good. Thundercats…good one! Also liked the "witness protection" from crossman87.

the last time a logo scored in a game was……….. Hey I like a Ford truck. But their mismanagement of their football team is near epic porportions. They are moving into the Donald Stearling Owner of the year catagorie. Hey if the Clippers and Lions used the same players would anyone notice?

They need new players
by npcPronk29 on Apr 20, 2009 10:54 PM EDT reply actions
The new logo look nice all but that wont help them. They need protection like that of Eugune Monroe or Jason Smith. The logo isnt that different, the only thing is threw drew in lines and eye for the Lion.
The Lions need to build a complete team and not look for anothner skill player or glamour player in hopes that this players can help them.

I like it. Coulda used a change from Honolulu blue to royal blue or something darker. Stop hating because at least the new front office is trying something….somewhere…..somehow! Hoping they draft Curry.

Thats all a 0-16 team needs is a new logo and before you know it they are 16-0.LOL, Just joking.TOO many holes to fill but they sould start with the offensive line and QB.

Its all smoke and mirrors by the newly promoted former CFO President Tom Lewand. Changing the logo and updating uniforms is a ploy to generate revenue as ticket sales are down because of a losing team 0-16 or 1-24 in the last 25 games.l
Lewand does not know football but he does know how to balance a check book. He will also be a yes man to try and convience coaching staff to take QB Stafford with the intention to market of the franchise and to sell jersey’s and tickets. A defense is clearly needed and needs to be address starting with Curry and possibly J. Smith offesive tackle as they are both ranked 1 and 2.

I think the logo is fine and sometimes small inexpensive changes like that can help a team become "a team". Lewand is definitely a numbers guy & has no clue about running the football personel but I believe in giving chances…
I think the Lions should pick Curry with the #1 & thier second first round should be an OT. There are other QB’s that will be NFL quality in the later rounds or even next year (i.e. see Patriots). You got Chase Daniels, Graham Harrell or J.P. Wilson. Come on, it’s not like the Lions will turn this around one season! Next year’s draft there will be top-rated QBs available & I’m sure the Lions will have a top 10 pick… Stafford & Sanchez will get KILL out there without a OT to protect…
Start with the Curry (LB) & Beatty (OT) or Maybin (DE) then pick up a QB in the 3rd… They don’t need no skilled positions (RB, WR, or TE) so concentrate on the O-line and the Defense…
Sorry for te rambling on… I’m not even a Lions fan! Just love the game!

yeah just what detroit fans need, to go out with record unemployment and buy new lions gear. i dont think these sports teams get it. though fans dont either cause if you didnt pay for the tickets, clothing, food etc. they wouldnt charge as much as they do.

If that logo ever met the Pat Patriot one from the old Patriots helmet, there’s gonna be one patriotic-but-lion-looking kid coming out of some orifice in 2010.
