This is Jared Allen and his friend Stewart. Stewart used to be a ... um ... wolf? Fox? Some kind of ... creature. Anwyay, Jared doesn't like making media appearances without a friend, and Stewart was available, so he simply plopped him on his head to chill and join him for an appearance on Jim Rome Is Burning. (Stewart is almost always available for these things, and has been since Allen killed him a few months ago.) Rome's reaction: "Jared. Allen. Nice hat. STRONG."
(Actually, we have no idea what that thing on Allen's head is, but Jared Allen has a freak flag no amount of camouflaging animal carcasses can hide. Well done, sir.)

His several dozen 270 pound black teammates enjoy when he speaks of his coonskin cap.

It’s a great look…he should dye his beard a matching color! This way it would complete the insanity. Allen’s cool, I wish he played for my Brownies. He’d fit right in with the DawgPound and I mean literally…not on the field, in the stands!!!

They should let him play with that on instead of a helmet, maybe on Throwback Day.
