Nick Saban, A Teenager is Trash-Talking You

There are people in sport I will not ever trash talk about, perhaps not even at gunpoint. I will never trash talk an MMA fighter, because every single one of them is capable of reducing me to a pile of quivering flesh-pudding in ten seconds, max. I will never trash-talk Lou Holtz, either, because I'm pretty sure he carries a switchblade and has used it before.

I will also never trash-talk Nick Saban. Sure, he's an excellent coach, great recruiter, blah blah blah. So is Pete Carroll, and I think I could take him. You'd end up hugging and feeding starving children with Carroll instead of fighting, of course. You know this is how it would happen: first punches, then learning, and finally spiritual enlightenment.

No, I remain convinced after sitting in the room during Nick Saban press conferences -- icy, angry affairs at their best -- that he is a berserker brawler just waiting to knock your kneecap sideways before biting you and snapping your neck in a killing move. Think Viggo Mortensen in History of Violence, also known as the unauthorized biography of Nick Saban. Which makes this a very stupid statement by a young Auburn recruit, indeed:

About a minute into this video from the Opelika-Auburn News, as someone is announcing the name of Bessemer linebacker Ladarius Owens, Seastrunk yells, "Hey, tell Nick Saban, he's S.O.L!" That means, Saban is, um, apparently out of luck for Owens' recruitment....-- At the very end of this video from AuburnSports.com, Seastrunk says into the camera, "What's up, Nick Saban? Wait 'til we get here."

The videos are here and here. When you grow up with a name like Lache Seastrunk you have to be tough, but this is going nowhere good. Apologize and he just might beat you on the field, youngster. Fail to show some sign of obeisance soon, Mr. Seastrunk, and he won't be responsible for what happens when your team walks into his diner in Tuscaloosa.

I like the swagger, but that’s probably because I’m an Auburn fan.

I don’t know what it is about you SN guys.  Two years ago what’s his name Dienhart gazed into Saban’s eyes at first meeting…  Dienhart didn’t say his nipples hardened from the voltage of Saban’s penetrating stare, but one member wagster here almost turned the encounter into a short novel worthy of Silhouette Romances.  I’m not saying Spencer has the same chest flush.  His love for Saban is more like a Hell’s Angel standing before a rock concert stage, holding a length of chain, glowering at the crowd and daring anyone to rush the stage and stroke the star.

Just a kid having fun.

I do, however, like what I am seeing from the ‘new’ coaching staff.  AU may not get these kids that were there over the weekend to sign, but, I sure do like the fact they were on the campus.

I would never, ever question Mike Singletary, personally. He looks like he won’t stop for a week when he finally snaps…. they’ll have to shoot him from a copter in Sacramento or something.

This is a kid who is still in high school. He’s gonna say some silly things. He’s not even commited to Auburn. Nick saban can go sh*t in a hat.

I expect that sort of thing from high schoolers. It’s not a big deal.

I would advise Urkel to pick a fight with someone  less dominate than Nick Saban. "What’s up Nick Saban?". Well, I’d say 36-0 is what’s up. When a coach gets your school’s coach fired all the while hanging a 36-0 butt-kicking on your school, trash talking makes you look like a fool. I’d advice taking a directed reading course and score more than 3 points against MSU before throwing sand in the face of (according to Forbes Magazine) The Most Powerful Man in Sports.

Wow, you know you have struck a nerve when you get the sort of response that football king made.  I mean, having to resort to calling a 17 year old names.

His post is the perfect representation of the ‘mullet nation’.  Hey, mullet, you do know that your perfect coach blames you for the loss to utah…right?  Yet you guys still treat him as some sort of deity.

He will leave you guys and then you will trash talk him also….you guys are predictable and sad.  And just to let you know, the ‘leprecaun’ doesnt need the likes of you sticking up for him…or does he?

36-0. Live it, learn it. Get used to it.
5-19 and you guys think he’s ‘The Winning Gene’? I love it. Keep him, Trooper, and the guy with the shooting glasses as long as you’d like. Tubberville was the most successful coach you guys have ever had and Coach Saban slapped his big ears out of town by FIVE TOUCHDOWNS. No wonder you guys are so obsessed with us that you have recruits mentioning our head coach by name when they visit your campus. Oh well, the world needs Sociology graduates too. Ditches don’t dig themselves.

I think Nick Saban will have a few words for Seastrunk, mainly
"Get your Shinebox", which will be helpful after your Auburn edumacation. I am sure Auburn will need a mascot replacement, and they are always on the look out for more "special education" scholarships. I think you qualify. Good luck with your drumline tryouts. Try not to set anybody on fire during the summer with the sunrays glaring thru your coke bottle glasses.

It’s going to take a lot more than one in a row for this alum to start talking trash.  Even about the cow college.

He’s just a highschool kid having fun.  You gotta love the fire.

I see the "dark side" of Bama nation has crept into TSN.

Hey mullet king, there was a coach for Alabama named Gene Stallings who only won 7 games  at Texas A&M in his first two years.
Bammers are still upset that Forrest Gump didnt win the Heisman.

LA. TECH  and Utah fan says GET OVER YOURSELF AND YOUR LITTLE GNOME COACH.
