Lanny McDonald, the Muffler Pitch Man

Not too long ago at FanHouse, my friend Adam Gretz dug up some of the best commercials done by future Hall of Famer Sergei Fedorov. But as you might expect, not every ad that involves a hockey player has the highest production values. There are plenty of examples out there, but one of the funniest I've tripped over recently is this commercial that features Lanny McDonald doing a pitch for a local muffler repair chain in Calgary back in 1988. Be sure to check out his mustache twirl and late 80s dance moves:

Thanks to Asylum for digging this up.

That’s like 101% charisma, there. I’ll now be driving to Calgary to get my brakes done.

yes i agree. lanny is most definitely charismatic. and brave for doing a commercial like that. one of the few people on earth who could do this commercial and not look like a total frenchman.
