John Wall Makes Us Yearn for College Hoops

I know, I'm getting ahead of myself because football is really just starting and I shouldn't jump past such a glorious time of the year ... but is it possible we can just get a uStream feed going in Lexington to monitor every basketball-playing moment of John Wall's life? Wall ditched his home state with his college choice, but he made some noise by mashing one over Jerry Stackhouse -- something Stack himself used to do regularly, but he obviously doesn't have those springs anymore. Stackhouse will probably hide his eyes under a blanket when Wall and the Wildcats take on North Carolina this season.

This dunk took place at the N.C. Pro Am, which I completely should've attended this weekend. Check out more highlight goodness from the league here on YouTube. There must be something in the water if Sean May is hooping like that.

The greatest moment of Mutombo’s career was when Stackhouse tried to dunk on him and got snuffed. After the game, Cookie Monster is holding court, saying "How dare he try to dunk on me? Who is this boy, this Steakhouse."

Once I saw that, I knew that Stackhouse was Mouse Not Man. I wouldn’t be shocked to see a Special Olympian break his ankles soon.

Can’t really compare an over-the-hill Stackhouse getting jammed on to an in-his-prime LeBron catching one in his grill. Still glad to see Stack get deflated a little more. Along with L’etat’s Mutombo memory, after MJ devoured him in his rookie year, ’House had always seemed more mouth than man, even.

He drove into the lane of an allstar game where an old guard, not a fwd or center, tried to defend him. I’d love to see him try this on an average center. S#!t is weak.

Wall has sick offensive skills (let’s see how HE plays defense before we proclaim him as the second coming of MJ), but this is a non-story. Stack is half Wall’s age… PLUS, Wall broke the perimeter guard’s ankles, drove right past him, and Stack was just rotating over for help. The story here should be that Stack actually was playing fundamentally sound team defense.
