Dan Henderson Continues to Hold Out For Anderson Silva

I had heard rumors to this effect yesterday but it sounds like there may be a little something to it:

Negotiations have apparently hit a sticking point, with Henderson reluctant to fight Nate Marquardt before getting a shot at Anderson Silva.

The likely scenario is that the UFC either gives Henderson the next shot at Silva without having to go through Marquardt - which what he was promised pre-Bisping fight - or forces him into the Marquardt bout with some fiscal recompense to sweeten the deal.

Anderson Silva seems genuinely uninterested in fighting Henderson or Marquardt and there is a lot of talk that the "elbow surgery" talk was just a way to delay either fight from happening.

The UFC isn't likely to let Dan get away and beef up Strikeforce's roster and as such they'll probably just give him a little something on the new contract to ease the pain of not getting the Silva fight right away. If the Hendo/Nate fight goes off then Anderson would basically be stuck either having to fight the winner or vacate his title.
