I'll always remember sitting at a Wizards game next to Jerome Williams’ loud, hilarious mother, who was wearing a jersey that said “Junkyard” on the back. One of the first times I encountered the rich world of NBA eccentricities—and he immediately became one of my favorite players.
For a player that made his living scraping together rebounds and smiling with hopelessly crooked teeth, it was the perfect nickname. Today, SBN's RaptorsHQ has an interview with Jerome “Junkyard Dog” Williams, where they talk about his Georgetown days, his time in Toronto, and life after basketball. Give it a look, and be sure to check back tomorrow for part 2.
