You may know Paul Shirley as the journeyman hoopster who’s built a secondary career telling stories of marginal professional basketball playerdom. He was always an amiable sort, a smarter-than-average everyman from which I could derive wild tales of European existence. I liked him.
From this day forward, I will know Paul Shirley only as the guy who trashed the greatest and most popular band of all-time for 2,000 words, beginning with this paragraph:
But if you’re my age, slightly older, or any younger, you have to pay attention to the whole article. This is what I want you to pay attention to: We were not around for The Beatles. Therefore, we cannot judge their impact on popular music.
Oh, Paul. Paul Paul Paul. I used to like you so much! What are you doing to us? That is literally the worst paragraph I’ve ever read! I don’t even know how to stop this blog post right now, I’m so angry with you! Ahhhhh!
