New York Yankee catcher Jorge Posada wound up charging Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Jesse Carlson in Tuesday night's game. Posada had a Carlson pitch brush by him in the bottom of the eighth inning at Yankee Stadium after Yankee Mark Melancon hit Blue Jay Aaron Hill in the top of the eighth inning. Posada didn't charge immediately and instead worked a walk. Carlson said something to Posada after scoring a run, which in turn led to a bench-clearing altercation between the AL East teams
Posada wound up being thrown out as did Carlson, although if you were watching the game, Carlson lingered in the Blue Jays dugout throughout the bottom of the eighth inning. You have to wonder if there will also be a penalty for that because Carlson was seen laughing and joking with teammates when he should've probably been in the showers.
More to come I'm sure.
