Most NFL fans know the story by now. Bills player Leodis McKelvin decides to run a kickoff back late in the game, fumbles the ball, Patriots get it and score – game over. After that, a couple of teenagers vandalized McKelvin’s lawn.
Well, true Buffalo Bills fans weren’t going to take that lying down. They’ve rallied together and are holding a fundraiser for McKelvin’s charity, Kids Escaping Drugs. Over at Buffalo Rumblings, member Squirmin’ Thurman organized the fundraiser and they already have over $1,200 in contributions and are taking more donations now. Their reasoning:
Let’s take a negative situation and turn it into a positive. The team battled hard in their opening week and showed a courage and toughness that opened eyes across the country. Let’s show the team the respect they deserve and do our part to make sure everyone knows there is no greater sports town than Buffalo, New York. After all, nobody circles the wagons like the Buffalo Bills…
