Former NFL offensive tackle Kyle Turley was known for his smash-mouth style during his tenure with the Saints, Rams and Chiefs. Who can forget the time he ripped off Damien Robinson's helmet after the Jets' defender crushed Aaron Brooks?
Unfortunately, it looks like Turley's time in the trenches had a very serious effect on his brain. According to Michael Silver of Yahoo! Sports, Turley may possibly have Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE), which is a degenerative brain condition that possibly led to the deaths of former NFL players Andre Waters and Justin Strzelczyk.
Check out Silver's article for an in-depth look at what players go through during and after their careers. It's a very interesting read that details how the NFL is educating current and former players about head trauma.
