The comeback from open heart surgery was storybook enough, so it was a little too much to ask for Aaron Boone to write another chapter this afternoon.
That Boone finished 0-3 (two flies to left field and a ground out to shortstop) in the Astros 2-0 loss to the Cubs is but a footnote to this amazing tale. Five months after open heart surgery, he was able to play a full game and make a nice defensive play to boot is the story. Anything beyond that would have been icing atop a very, very sweet cake.
Plus, Boone already has a legendary home run on his resume. Let's not get greedy.
