It’s still early in the 1st quarter, but already the Saints and Eagles seem content to air it out and try to simply outscore one another. New Orleans struck first with a Drew Brees touchdown to Marques Colston (that’s 7 TDs for Brees in roughly 4 1/2 quarters this year). Kevin Kolb, making his first career NFL start, wasted little time in recording his first career NFL touchdown pass, hooking up with DeSean Jackson on a 71-yard bomb. Already 165 yards of combined total offense and two scores in just about 8 minutes of play.
