Nearing the half, Atlanta is up against Carolina. Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan is taking advantage of offseason acquisition Tony Gonzalez, who has caught four passes for 48 yards and a touchdown.

The Panthers’ top offensive threat thus far is Steve Smith, who has caught five Jake Delhomme passes for 88 yards.
