Chicago 17, Pittsburgh 14. Robbie Gould's 44-yarder with 20 seconds left was enough to lift the Bears on a day when their running game stalled (18 carries for 43 yards). Ben Roethlisberger threw for one touchdown and ran for another.
Baltimore 31, San Diego 26. Ray Lewis stopped Darren Sproles behind the line on fourth down late, and the Ravens seized the early lead of the AFC North. Philip Rivers was valiant in defeat, throwing for 436 yards and two scores, but his second interception turned into a Ravens field goal that put the game out of reach.
San Francisco 23, Seattle 10. Frank Gore had over 200 yards one play into the third quarter, but finished with 207. Meanwhile, I believe the Seahawks finished with seven healthy players: Matt Hasselbeck joined Walter Jones on the bench with a rib injury.
Buffalo 33, Tampa Bay 20. Fred Jackson rushed for 163 yards, Donte Whitner returned a pick for six, the Bucs went 4-for-16 on third down, and Terrell Owens caught his first TD as a Bill. If for some reason you need to know more about this one, you have my sympathies.
Denver 27, Cleveland 6. The Broncos held the Browns to 200 total yards and just 3-for-14 on third down. The Brady Quinn Era is practically pyrotechnic!
