According to Portland beat writer John Canzano—who still needs to write a book about those late-90s Jail Blazers teams—the Trail Blazers have agreed to terms with former Spurs forward Ime Udoka.
Udoka’s certainly not one of the flashier offseason acquisitions, but for Portland, a team with issues on defense, he could turn out to be a real difference maker. SBN’s Blazers Edge is sure to have further analysis, but as far as I’m concerned, anytime you can sign someone who will coldly dispatch multiple Algerian thugs at the drop of a hat (scroll down, “The Ime Udoka Story”), you have to make that move.
