Former NBA player David Vaughn apparently had himself a bit of a rough patch. And by rough patch, I mean oh my God this sounds horrible:
Then there was the clean and comfortable local hospital, where he eventually ended up because the infection from the multiple spider bites on his toe had grown so out of control and spiked his fever that doctors wanted to amputate his grotesque-looking foot before it cost him the entire leg. That's where he woke up one day to find his estranged wife crying beside his hospital bed, begging him to come home again, even if it meant violating the court order that prevented him from being within 500 feet of her.
It's a redemptive story, full of second chances and thankfulness and all of that, but yeesh, man. Spider bites!
