Lions Still Deciding on Stafford or Culpepper at QB

Stay connected with SB Nation

The Browns aren't the only team in the NFL who haven't settled on a starting QB. The Detroit Lions are still pondering the fate of first overall pick Matt Stafford and veteran Dante Culpepper. The Lions must choose between taking their first steps towards the future and letting Stafford take his lumps, or they somehow entertain the notion that the experienced Culpepper might be able to make something out of this team, this year. Since it's the Lions we're talking about, the answer should be simple. Why worry about this year, you were 0-16 last year, it's not likely you'll be contending for the playoffs. The Lions need to feed Stafford to the lions, in hopes that in 2-3 years, he can lead the Lions back to respectability.
