Tucson, AZ (Sports Network) - Jamelle Horne scored 22 points to lead Arizona in an 87-70 victory over No. 24 Washington at McKale Center.
Kyle Fogg and Nic Wise each contributed 14 points for the Wildcats (8-8, 2-2 Pac-10), who bounced back from a two-point home loss to Washington State on Friday. Lamont Jones posted 13 points, while Derrick Williams finished with 12 points and nine rebounds. Kevin Parrom scored 10 in the win.
Isaiah Thomas poured in 18 points for the Huskies (10-5, 1-3), who have lost three in a row. That includes a 17-point defeat at Arizona State on Friday.
Thomas hit a jumper to get the Huskies within 45-41 with 14 1/2 minutes left in the game, but the Wildcats pulled away by scoring the ensuing seven points, capped by a three-point play from Jones. The double-digit difference remained the rest of the way.
Arizona, which never trailed, gained an early 13-3 lead following a three-ball from Horne. The Wildcats held a 37-27 edge at the half due in part to great defense. The Huskies shot 9-of-27 from the field in the opening 20 minutes.
Five of Arizona's next seven games will be on the road, a place that the Wildcats are just 3-12 since the start of the 2008-09 campaign...Arizona is 25-6 in series games against the Huskies in games played in Tucson.
