Fresh off a pivotal Big Ten win over previously unbeaten No. 4 Purdue, Wisconsin fans : junior forward Jon Leuer . Gary Parrish of CBS Sports reports that Leuer will undergo surgery on Tuesday to repair a fractured wrist he suffered last Saturday during the Purdue game. The junior forward was leading the Badgers in rebounding at 6.2 per game, and was second on the team in scoring at 15.4 points per game.
While the team's official statement on Leuer (via SBN's Bucky's 5th Quarter) did not offer a timetable for his return, it seems doubtful that he will return before the end of the season. The wrist is a complicated joint, and a fracture usually takes several months to heal. If Leuer does manage to make it back to the court this season, it would likely be right before the NCAA tournament kicks off.
The Badgers are 13-3 on the season, with key wins over Duke and Purdue, and losses to Gonzaga, Wisconsin-Green Bay, and Michigan State.

Wisconsin's Jon Leuer To Miss 4-6 Weeks
Well, it could have been worse. Wisconsin forward Jon Leuer, who fractured his wrist Saturday, will miss 4-6 weeks, which is certainly better than "indefinite." If he is out four weeks, then he'd miss seven games; six weeks means missing 11 games, and return date of Feb. 25.
His loss will certainly hurt the Badgers, but it' snot the end of the world, according to Bucky's 5th Quarter.
