Pete Carroll hasn't been gone for 24 hours but you can already remove Oregon State's Mike Riley from the list of candidates to replace him at USC. Riley signed a 3-year extension with the Beavers on Sunday night that ensures he'll be on contract until 2019.
"Due to the fact there is a lot of speculation on my future, I want to make it known that I’m very excited to be coaching at Oregon State University and I anticipate doing so for a long time," Riley said from the American Football Coaches Association convention in Orlando, Fla.
"Coach Riley has done an outstanding job in leading this program to unparalleled success," De Carolis said. "This new extension ensures his leadership will be felt for the long term and adds tremendous stability to our program. We are thankful and fortunate to have him committed to the Beaver family."
The folks over at Oregon State blog Building The Dam are excited by the news, keep an eye on them for any developments and reaction.
