Here at SBNation.com, we're already on record as saying this whole "dunk-in" duel between DeMar DeRozan and Eric Gordon just to get in the Slam Dunk Contest is pretty lame. However, assuming DeRozan does indeed win, there might be some real intrigue in the main Slam Dunk Contest.
Why? Well, DeRozan just fired a shot across the bow to all those who might compete with him.
"I don't care if (Michael )Jordan is in it," DeRozan said.
"Ever since I was in the eighth or ninth grade, every dunk contest I did, I never lose," he said last night. "In the ninth grade, I was in one with Mike Beasley and Gerald Henderson and won. I always feel confident. I like pulling things off."
Can DeRozan back up his talk? Let's remix Michael Jackson to get a better idea!
I love Eric Gordon as a player, but he has no chance in this "dunk-in" thing. Sorry.
