NBA Rule Enforced For First Time Ever

Detroit 4 Lyfe noticed an oddity during Friday night's Bucks-Warriors game. The Warriors were playing with a shallow bench due to numerous injuries. By the second half, a couple more players were hurt, and most of their healthy Warriors were in foul trouble.

And then, with four seconds left in the game, Stephen Curry's foul-out left the Warriors with only four guys who could play. To the rule book!

Each team shall consist of 5 players. No team may be reduced to less than 5 players. If a player in the game receives his 6th personal foul and all substitutes have already been disqualified, said player shall remain in the game and shall be charged with a personal and team foul.

Detroit 4 Lyfe says that this is the first time in the history of the NBA that this rule, Rule No. 3 (1A), has been enforced. I'm still waiting for the day that Rule No. 7 (3a) will be enforced. It reads as follows.

If a player kneels and genuflects at half-court for no less than five minutes, and if this player be pure of heart, the roof shall open forth and the spirit of Dr. James Naismith shall hear his prayers and grant a wish. The wish cannot be "more wishes." The player's team will be awarded 450 points and the ability to fly.
