Report: Adams Death Resulted From Cardiac Arrest

ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting that Bears DE Gaines Adams, who passed away Sunday Morning, died of a heart attack.

Coroner ruled that Bears DE Gaines Adams died of cardiac arrest caused by an enlarged heart. Prayers are with his family and friends.

Bears' Gaines Adams Passes Away At 26

We have awful news to pass along. On Sunday morning, Gaines Adams of the Chicago Bears was taken to the emergency room in Greenwood, South Carolina, and later pronounced dead. The cause of death has not yet been reported.

The fourth overall pick in the 2007 NFL Draft, the defensive end was traded from the Buccaneers to the Bears in October. Adams was only 26 years old
