A heavyweight matchup between "The Ultimate Fighter 10" cast members Kevin "Kimbo Slice" Ferguson (4-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC) and Matt Mitrione (1-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) is currently in the works for the main card of the as-yet-unannounced UFC 113 event in Montreal.
UFC 113 is expected to take place at the Bell Centre on May 1 and feature a main event between light heavyweight rivals Lyoto Machida and Mauricio "Shogun" Rua.
- MMA Junkie confirms the previously reported bout between Kimbo and Matt Mitrione.
It's a fight that at first glance may be easy to say is winnable for Slice, and it is. But Mitrione's chin is solid and he has some real power in his hands. If he forces Kimbo into a firefight (which Houston Alexander did not) he really could catch, hurt, and sleep Kimbo.
That being said, the UFC generally knows the kind of bouts to make for guys they're trying to build up. It will also be very interesting to see what a Kimbo fight on PPV can do for buyrates.
