We have awful news to pass along. On Sunday morning, Gaines Adams of the Chicago Bears was taken to the emergency room in Greenwood, South Carolina, and later pronounced dead. The cause of death has not yet been reported.
The fourth overall pick in the 2007 NFL Draft, the defensive end was traded from the Buccaneers to the Bears in October. Adams was only 26 years old
We'll have more details on this tragic story as they become available.

shame, he had a lot of life in front of him
no doubt about he died too early. now it’s time for some evaluation. not to be insensitive, but id like to put in my two cents here.i can’t judge until the cause of death comes out but i wouldn’t be too shocked if it were drug related, ridiculously fit 26 year old NFL athletes don’t just keel over and die without warning. then again, it could be an unknown heart condition like the one that the forward from southern illinois had. that would explain why the bucs gave up a young, former first round pick for virtually nothing.
