There's something perfect about the news that Norv Turner and Wade Phillips both received contract extensions mere days after losing disappointing playoff games. They were both rewarded for doing just good enough not to get fired. And because we're all pretty sure they're never going to get any further.
Next year, when both the Chargers and Cowboys underachieve and both coaches are fired at the end of the season, we'll look back fondly on this week and remember a time when just good enough...was good enough.

Yeah
getting to the Divisional round of playoffs is just good enough not to get fired… who lets you write.
maybe it’s cause you’re good enough to just “not get fired”

Is every team
that doesn’t make the Super Bowl supposed to fire their head coaches? This makes no sense.

Their past
If you knew anything about the coaching past of Phillips and Turner, the post would probably make more sense. He certainly isn’t suggesting every coach who doesn’t make the Super Bowl be fired.

their past?
c’mon, gimmie a break, they are all professionals, since taking over in San Diego, they have won the West all 3 years, and have played in 6 playoff games. they’ve hired the right coordinators, made the right personnel moves, they just come up a little short, just like Marty S did too.
try being a Bears fan, and then come talk to me about firing a coach after winning a butt load of games. or go ask the Lions how they’d feel about having a winning season

WOW really.
WP has the 2nd highest wining percentage of any coach the last 3 years. You fire him because he lost the divisional round of the playoffs? You kiidding me?
These coaches have 5 divisional titles between them in the last 3 years.
I’m glad I don’t work for you.
