Oklahoma State starting defensive back and all-conference kick returner Perrish Cox has been suspended for the Cotton Bowl (Saturday, 2 p.m. ET, FOX) for a violation of team rules, according to a release from the team. The Daily Oklahoman reported that prior to the release Cox informally announced the suspension on his Facebook page, writing: "I'm officially not playing in the bowl game." The newspaper speculated that the suspension was "related to curfew violations this week in Dallas."
The Daily Oklahoman went on to note that Dez Bryant voiced his displeasure with the suspension.
In response to Cox’s comment, Dez Bryant wrote: "call me..." then a bit later "for the whole game....thats way to much.... a cowboy reminder is enough... not the whole game."
