Okay, now hear me out for a second. Kentucky fans will dismiss this proposition because they don’t want to jinx anything, and other college basketball fans will dismiss it because… “Well, screw Kentucky, that’s why.” But hear me out.
You have John Wall. I’ve been an acolyte of his for quite some time, and since October, he’s only enhanced his legend. But there’s more.
The reason Kentucky could maybe run the table isn’t just because of John Wall and Patrick Patterson, his fellow All-American. What makes them unbeatable is that in addition to that duo, you’ve got Eric Bledsoe, probably the second best NBA point guard prospect in America.
And then in addition to Patterson down low, you’ve got Demarcus Cousins, the mercurial big man that, when he’s got his head on straight, is the most imposing big man in the country, and a top 3 NBA prospect, himself.
Now that Bledsoe and Cousins have grown up, we’re talking about four of the very best players in the entire country. Frankly, I’m just surprised Ohio State’s Evan Turner isn’t involved in this perfect storm of talented superstars.
And as far as winning close games, one of those superstars (Wall) has proven that he can single-handedly takeover games when it matters most. It won’t matter today, though; UK is currently beating a very respectable Arkansas team by 30 points. Game over at halftime.
Seriously. Why can’t these guys run the table?
