At least in terms of decibel levels. Early in the NFC Championship, Fox showed that the Superdome crowd was registering a reading of 102 decibels, which is roughly the same as a snowmobile or a motorcycle, and is at a "level at which sustained exposure may result in hearing loss." The New Orleans crowd is louder than a subway a train from 200 feet, but not quite the same as a loud rock concert.
Coming in at 180 decibels -- "the death of hearing tissue" -- is Dick Vitale calling a Duke game.
