The Senior Bowl Featuring Tim Tebow Is This Weekend

Considered to be the first "professional" game of their lives, a group of college football's top seniors will gather in Mobile for the Senior Bowl. The game is on Saturday, Jan 30th, at 4 PM EST on the NFL Network (send all complaints to Roger Goodell for the NFLN availability).

SBN's NFL draft blog, Mocking The Draft, is already hard at work covering the upcoming NFL draft. In addition to team needs and prospect previews, they've posted a Senior Bowl preview. Every year, there are a couple of players everybody is interested in watching, this year's crop of talented enigma's includes Tim Tebow. After a sterling NCAA career with the Florida Gators, Tebow must now prove to NFL scouts that he has the tools to be a NFL QB, not just a mobile college signal-caller who relies on his legs as much as his arm. Tebow needs to show he can make all the throws with authority, and that he has the intangibles to make plays and move the chains without resorting to taking off out of the pocket.

All eyes will be on Tebow, so much so that Mocking The Draft has suggested re-naming this year's game.

Tim Tebow | QB | Florida
This may as well be called the Senior Tebowl. No player will be more-watched this week than the lightning rod quarterback. Off the field, in interviews, Tebow will be a star. It’s how he reacts on the field that will tell his story. For the past four seasons, Tebow was rarely scrutinized as a football player. His arm strength and throwing motion won’t be the only thing tested this week. His mettle will be as well.

Other players on display include:

Safety Myron Rolle, who took a year off from football to pursue his Oxford Scholarship.

LaGarrette Blount, the suspended Oregon RB who threw the punch against Boise State at the beginning of 2009. Blount has a chance to undo some of the damage from that ill-fated decision.

Mike Iupati, the highly-rated guard from Idaho who needs to prove he can handle a step up in competition.
