What's the difference between the New Jersey Nets and MTV's Jersey Shore? That's easy: they're both trainwrecks, but Jersey Shore is an I-can't-stop-watching disaster. The Nets, not so much. Which is exactly why the Nets are trying to latch onto Jersey Shore's fleeting, final minute of fame to get fans to come out to their losses games.
In a bit of desperate/inspired marketing, the Nets are offering $5 tickets for their January 27th matchup against the Clippers, along with the promise that "Jersey Shore cast members will be in attendance"! Not bad as far as promotions go, but they can do better. How about letting The Situation actually suit up for the Nets? Or have Snooki coach the team for a night?
That worked for the Knicks with Whoopi, after all. Right?
