Colts President Bill Polian Pretty Much Hates The Pro Bowl

What could move the mild-mannered Bill Polian to utter such uncouth language towards the hallowed Pro Bowl?

“It’s stupid,” he said on his Monday radio show. “It’s a disruption, but we’ll deal with it.”

Oh, nothing at all -- just Peyton Manning and six other Colts who are about to lose a day of practice the week before the Super Bowl to stand on the Pro Bowl sidelines in Miami and grimace for the cameras:

They won’t play — replacements from other teams have been selected — but the league is requiring players to show up for the annual all-star game, which in a change from previous years is being played the week before Super Bowl XLIV [...] and in the same city as the title game as opposed to Honolulu, Hawaii.

There are so many things wrong with this sentence ("as opposed to Honolulu" is about where the NFL went off the rails with this thing, right?), but isn't it sort of adorable that the NFL brass have convinced themselves that having Peyton Manning show up at the Pro Bowl will distract from the fact that Tyler Thigpen will probably be playing in it?
