The Atlanta Thrashers haven't had much to chuckle about with the team's inconsistency and Ilya Kovalchuk's possible exit threatening their future. Johan Hedberg dove way past his crease to reach a loose puck before Simon Gagne could and the two collided as Moose slid on the ice. While Gagne may have been looking for a tripping penalty, the goaltender was just looking to break free because his jersey was over his head interfering with his vision. Hedberg attempted to get back to his net instinctively but to no avail as a Flyers forward collided with him.
When the officials noticed his mask came off, they stopped the play. The Thrashers were all smiles after the stoppage including Hedberg as everyone got a big kick out of the sequence. Atlanta may have its problems in the ownership offices and their playoff aspirations, but it's hard to tell when you see the group enjoying themselves like this.
