January 2, 2010 – Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) – Marcus Johnson and Michael Gerrity each scored 12 points to pace the USC Trojans in a 47-37 victory over the Arizona State Sun Devils in Pac-10 Conference action at the Galen Center.
Johnson went 5-of-11 from the floor and Gerrity finished 7-of-8 at the foul line, as USC (10-4, 2-0 Pac-10) extended its winning streak to eight games.
Demetrius Walker guided ASU (10-5, 0-2) in defeat with 11 points, while Jamelle McMillan had 10 points and three assists.
USC led 23-16 at the half and ASU would get no closer than three points in the second half of the 10-point decision.
The Sun Devils were held below 40 points for the first time since a 69-37 setback to Minnesota in the Maui Invitational in 1991.
