Here's the situation: with seconds left, West Virginia holds a one-point lead on a Louisville team that really needs this win. Following a brick, the ball appears to touch off a Mountaineer's hand and out of bounds.
But the ref missed it, and the crew eventually gave the ball to West Virginia. This is why the ref missed it:
Circled in red is the basketball that was traveling at a frightening five miles per hour, right toward the referee. He ducked out of the way, because Louisville is eternally cursed and because basketballs are scary. Oh well. It ought to be one hell of an NIT!
