I feel safe saying this, even if it's a little over the top, but screw it. If the New Orleans Saints win the Super Bowl, perhaps they should give Michael G. Bagneris some sort of honor.
Who is Michael G. Bagneris? He's the Civil District Court Judge for Division H, Section 12 of the city of New Orleans. He's apparently a huge New Orleans Saints fan that is very up on the proper Saintsmania lingo.
He's also very understanding of attorneys that are fellow Saints fans. How do we know? Via Above The Law, Bagneris granted a continuance in a case presented to him this week because it coincided with the Saints' run to the Super Bowl. Here's a copy of the court order:
Proper use of Saintsmania as a noun? Check. Comparing the Saints journey to a religious-like pilgrimage? Check. Correct use of "Who Dat Nation?" Check. General awesomeness? Check plus. I motion that we put that court order in every single civil procedure textbook in the country.
(HT: My awesome, amazing girlfriend, who happens to be in law school).
