Bill Cowher has been linked to several teams in the last few weeks, most strongly with the Bills. But according to Adam Schefter, the former Steelers coach may just sit out another season and enjoy his CBS gig.
This decision, if true, likely has more to do with the coaching vacancies and less to do with Cowher's desire, or lack thereof, to coach again. As we look at it right now, the Bills could very well be the only team with a somewhat desirable opening after the Redskins hire Mike Shanahan.
Perhaps Cowher has his heart set on coaching Carolina, where he now resides. The Panthers announced last week that John Fox will finish out the final year of his contract next season. Barring some sort of incredible postseason run, it's hard to imagine the team will re-up with Fox, especially if Cowher is interested.
Then again, if the Cowboys lose at home to Philly this Saturday, there may be a job available in Dallas ...
