Carson Palmer is certainly a stranger when it comes to ignominy. Heisman winner, first overall pick, Pro Bowler, ya dig. But, as Football Outsiders points out, Palmer made some rather dubious history last week:
Carson Palmer's 11 attempts for zero yards last night were an NFL record for the most attempts in a game without gaining a single yard.
That's right: Palmer only completed one pass (two if you count the interception he threw) for a grand total of...zero yards. But fortunately for Palmer, he will have a chance to earn a measure of revenge this weekend when the Bengals get another shot at the Jets in the first round of the playoffs, albeit with a banged up Chad Ochocino.
For the sake of football fans everywhere, let's hope Palmer and the Bengals offense remember how to gain positive yards fast.
