Well, that was quick. Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting that the Heat will sign Rafer Alston just hours after the Nets bought out the remainder of his contract.
Wojnarowski is also reporting that the Heat are sending little-used Chris Quinn to the Nets for a second-round pick in order to clear a roster spot for Alston.
Miami has agreed to send Chris Quinn to Nets for future 2nd and cash to free roster spot and will sign Rafer Alston, sources say.
So essentially, the Heat traded Chris Quinn and a second-round pick for Rafer Alston, only they had to go this route because Quinn’s salary doesn’t match up with Alston’s. The NBA, where complex trade rules happen!
