Stay connected with SB Nation

According to a report by Hattiesburg, Mississippi TV station WDAM-TV, three Southern Mississippi football players were shot last night in an altercation at a club.

The station doesn't provide names for any of the players, but cites sources saying that an altercation inside the club around 1:20 a.m. turned into a shooting outside it when a person opened fire, injuring three people. Those people, reportedly all Southern Miss football players, are in critical condition, sources told WDAM. Further, Southern Mississippi head coach Larry Fedora and assistants have been spotted at Forrest General Hospital since the early morning.

The Southern Miss football team scored a big victory earlier in the day, knocking off Central Florida 31-21, and handing the Knights their first loss in Conference-USA play.

The Remington's Hunt Club mentioned in the report is a bar and grill chain with locations around Mississippi.

We will update this StoryStream with details as they become available.
