Jimmie Johnson is unfortunately one of the greatest drivers NASCAR has ever seen. He has 53 wins in just 8 years, most drivers will not even make it to 25 wins, let alone 50!!! As much as people hate him, you can`t lie, he may one day be one of the all time greats, which he probably is already, who else can you name that has won 5 straight championships in any sport, all the ones that have done it, are by the way are known as the best teams people have ever seen.
So what does it take to beat the 48 Lowes team. Well so far, no matter what anybody does, they can not beat them. But, Carl Edwards may be able to take down the Hendrick Motorsports crew in the new 2011 season after dominating the last two weeks of the 2010 season at Phoenix and Homestead in Nationwide and Cup competition. But what makes the 48 the best most people are wondering. Well besides the fact that he has won 5 straight championships, his team has overcome much adversity including having Crew Chief Chad Knaus suspended when he won the 2006 Daytona 500. But this year was probably the toughest year for the 48 crew. With a strong start, it looked like they would be the runaway champs once again, but they struggled through most of the summer months with many wrecks as well as pit crew incidents. But once the chase started, they were on fire, but going into Phoenix they did not have their pit crew, it was Jeff Gordon`s. Even with that, the team was still able to come back from behind to beat Denny Hamlin and the FedEx 11 Toyota for legendary Washington Redskins` coach, Joe Gibbs. Many people believe that Hamlin lost the championship because he knew that people did not want a Toyota to win, but all that matters is the 48 is champion once again and no one can change that.
