The Washington Huskies and Michigan State Spartans are locked in a tight, back and forth battle for third-place at the Maui Invitational. Washington took a 10 point lead into the half, but Michigan State stormed right back, using a strong second half run to close the gap and make this a game. Michigan State senior Kalin Lucas' is on fire again, scoring 25 points while leading the charge for the Spartans. With just under four minutes to go, Washington leads, 66-64.
The Huskies have used a balanced scoring attack to keep Michigan State off-balance. Matthew Bryan-Amaning (12 points), Isaiah Thomas (11) and Justin Holiday (12) are all in double figures for the Huskies. Aziz N'Diaye, a 7-foot-0 junior college transfer, added five rebounds off the bench for Washington.
Draymond Green has added 12 points and five rebounds off the bench for the Spartans as he continues to have a strong tournament. Garrick Sherman added 10 points to join Green and Lucas in double figures.
