Report: Steelers LT Max Starks Could Miss Rest Of Season Due To Neck Injury

The Steelers had to tough out three injuries to starting offensive linemen in their win Monday night in Cincinnati, but except for a sprained knee to left guard Chris Kemoeatu that could limit him in practice this week, it didn't appear any of the injuries could be significant.

However, Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is reporting that the injury that head coach Mike Tomlin has been referring to as a "stinger" since the game ended looks to be more serious. An MRI conducted Tuesday showed that Starks has suffered a serious injury to a disc in the upper veterbrae or neck area.

Bouchette's source indicated that the injury would not end the career of Starks, who is in his seventh season with the Steelers, but that the lineman has been consulting with doctors late on Tuesday to determine whether the injury could heal over time using physical therapy instead of surgery.
