Gonzaga has struggled through a very tough schedule early in the 2010-11 season, but the Bulldogs bounced back on Saturday evening. Robert Sacre's 17 points contributed to a SCORE triumph over No. 9 Baylor.
In Texas, the Bears couldn't pull away from Gonzaga, who out-stole Baylor by a 14 to 6 margin. Sacre, in addition to leading the Bulldogs in scoring, pulled down six rebounds and shot 6-for-10 from the field. Off the bench, Marquise Carter was good for 13 points, and Sam Dower chipped in with 10.
Baylor came up empty in a lot of possessions -- in addition to losing the turnover battle, they sunk only two of 12 three-point attempts. They were led by Perry Jones III, who scored 19 points, and LaceDarius Dunn, who put up 17. A.J. Walton, who leads the Bears in steals this season, fouled out.
With this win, Gonzaga improves to 5-5. Baylor suffers its first loss of the season and drops to 7-1.
